Sustainability Solutions Account Executive

The Sustainability Solutions Account Executive manages and expands the Sustainability and Energy Savings business in the Midwest, primarily targeting the education sector within public markets. While knowledge of energy services and construction is beneficial, success will largely depend on high-level strategic selling skills within public sector markets across the Midwest. Responsibilities include identifying market needs, developing sales strategies, and creating solutions to improve clients’ facilities, operations, and profitability.

Why is this important? The EPS sales team collaborates across Siemens divisions and branches to position Siemens as a preferred provider for building retrofit projects, performance contracting, and other energy-related initiatives requiring comprehensive procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain relationships with executive and C-level stakeholders within target accounts, qualify sales leads, develop sales funnels, and implement customer-specific sales plans.
  • Build relationships within the public sector administrative community.
  • Manage complex deals independently, assist customers in understanding financial goals, uncover challenges, and define infrastructure solutions.
  • Secure contracts and develop financing options, coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project transitions.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction, collaborate with marketing for outreach, and team-sell when appropriate.
  • Participate in professional organizations, stay current on market trends, and develop customer-specific value propositions.
  • Complete needs assessments, proposals, and forecasts, with travel up to 50% locally.
Qualifications:

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-8+ years of executive consultative selling experience in complex solutions or financial transactions related to construction.
  • Strong planning, negotiation, and understanding of customer business drivers.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to work legally in the U.S., and age 21+.

Preferred:

  • Existing relationships within the public sector.
  • Strategic selling skills, energy industry expertise, CRM proficiency, and a master’s degree are advantageous.
