Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and advancing sustainability operations with supplier partners, facilitating collaborative engagement, and ensuring integration of environmental considerations into procurement and contracting processes. You will develop and manage sustainable program operations and quality assurance of high impact sourcing programs that provide client value and drive contract commitment. You will also promote internal and / or external program optimization to deliver client and / or supplier value (e.g. sales enablement, revenue growth, contract utilization).

Responsibilities:

  • Manages sustainability program, processes, and procedures to ensure successful execution and goal alignment.

  • Facilitate the Sustainability Supplier Task Force, fostering collaboration and accountability among suppliers to support a more resilient and sustainable healthcare supply chain.

  • Request, collect, and manage sustainability-related product and corporate data from suppliers to inform environmentally preferred purchasing decisions.

  • Support bid development and RFP processes by evaluating sustainability criteria and collaborating with sourcing teams to ensure the inclusion of environmental performance standards.

  • Assist in negotiating supplier contracts to integrate sustainability expectations and standards.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including sourcing, contract services, and client-facing stakeholders, to advance Vizient’s enterprise sustainability program.

  • Provide strategic guidance and support to suppliers on best practices, expectations, and tools for environmental reporting and improvement.

  • Supports contracting efforts by facilitating negotiations, driving contract utilization, and onboarding members into the sustainability program.

  • Identifies business growth opportunities through outreach, market research, and targeting new member/supplier relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree in Environmental Sustainability or related field preferred.

  • 5 or more years’ relevant experience working in a sustainability focused position required.

  • Ability to handle complex tasks while maintaining strong, communicative relationships with multiple suppliers, clients, and / or distributors.

  • Experience working for a healthcare supplier highly preferred.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
