Job summary

BNY is seeking a Senior Vice President, Sustainability Risk to advance the sustainability risk framework across the firm. The role involves leading risk identification, assessment, and governance activities in a highly regulated financial services environment.

The position is located in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL. The candidate will drive integration of sustainability risk into business processes, develop metrics and risk indicators, and prepare materials for senior management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in risk management, sustainability risk, financial services, consulting, regulatory, or related disciplines.
• Experience executing risk management frameworks, control environments or regulatory implementation in a complex, heavily regulated organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex topics to senior audiences.

Responsibilities

• Drive execution and enhancement of the enterprise sustainability risk framework, ensuring practices are effective, proportionate, and aligned with regulations.
• Identify, assess and monitor emerging sustainability risks and regulations, and integrate them into risk frameworks.
• Lead materiality assessments and analytical reviews to support risk prioritization and oversight.
• Develop sustainability risk methodologies, metrics, KRIs, and analytical approaches for enterprise oversight.
• Review client and vendor due diligence for sustainability-related risks and gaps.
• Translate due diligence findings and regulatory developments into actionable risk insights and recommendations.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to implement regulation and embed sustainability considerations into business processes.
• Prepare concise, decision-oriented materials for senior management and governance forums.
