Job summary

Verde Clean is seeking a Recycle Technician to support daily recycling and waste reduction by sorting, staging, processing, and transporting recyclables. You will work with the ESG Supervisor to maximize material recovery and maintain safe, efficient recycling operations.

The role involves operating balers, compactors, pallet jacks, and dollies; monitoring contamination and educating staff on proper sorting; and supporting sustainability goals while upholding safety procedures and a clean work

Qualifications

  • Preferred experience in facilities, janitorial, warehouse, recycling, or waste management operations.
  • Must be able to pass MVR.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in an industrial environment.

Recycle Technician
Position Summary

The Recycle Technician supports the daily execution of recycling and waste reduction programs by sorting, staging, processing, and transporting recyclable materials. This role works closely with the ESG Supervisor to maintain site sustainability initiatives, maximize material recovery, and ensure clean, safe, and efficient recycling operations.

Key Responsibilities
Material Handling & Recycling Operations
  • Sort, collect, and stage recyclable materials at designated collection points.
  • Operate recycling equipment, including balers, compactors, pallet jacks, and dollies.
  • Support Outbound Asset Material (OAM) processes, including material movement and documentation.
  • Assist with transporting and preparing materials for shipment or disposal.
Contamination Prevention & Site Maintenance
  • Monitor recycling streams for contamination and promote proper waste-sorting practices.
  • Assist in educating staff on recycling procedures at points of generation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of waste enclosures, recycling areas, and loading docks.
Sustainability Program Support
  • Partner with the ESG Supervisor to support site-wide waste diversion and sustainability goals.
  • Participate in training programs and reinforce environmentally responsible practices.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve recycling effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Safety & Equipment Care
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE use, lifting techniques, and equipment operation.
  • Conduct basic equipment checks and promptly report maintenance or repair needs.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment at all times.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
  • Preferred experience in facilities, janitorial, warehouse, recycling, or waste management operations.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ pounds.
  • Experience operating material handling equipment and recycling tools is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial or facilities environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • MUST be able to pass MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)

Job Details

Position: Recycle Technician
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:0 AM-4:30 PM

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50+ pounds regularly.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse, dock, recycling, and industrial environments.
