BiOrigin Specialty Products in East Hartford, CT is seeking an Environmental & Process Engineer to lead environmental compliance and optimize water and air systems in our paper mill. You will work hands-on in production, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive safe, efficient operations.

The role focuses on developing and modernizing environmental programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring operation staff on best practices in environmental stewardship and continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental/chemical/mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience in paper manufacturing or similar industry.
• Experience managing Environmental Systems and Environmental Report generation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to implement corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives for the paper mill.
• Develop and modernize environmental systems and programs.
• Drive continuous improvement in environmental performance.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Coordinate water and air environmental systems management.
• Provide training to beater room personnel and operators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on safety, quality, production, and cost.
• Oversee chemical and waste safety programs and recordkeeping.
• Participate in on-call manager rotation.
