Sustainability Manager / Full-time / UK Travel Required (North West of UK)
We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to collaborate with various sites across Muller UK & Ireland. The role involves promoting and implementing best practices in sustainability, ensuring alignment with established standards and guidelines throughout our UK operations.
Main Responsibilities of the Sustainability Manager
- Partner with sites to ensure compliance with sustainability standards.
- Coach and enable sites to meet audit standards and sustainability goals.
- Develop and manage tools and systems for environmental sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with ISO14001 standards.
- Benchmark performance against internal and external measures.
- Support stakeholders at all levels with sustainability initiatives.
- Identify and address local training needs.
- Drive achievement of targets on the Sustainability Roadmap.
- Coordinate support cycles and report progress to senior leadership.
- Provide technical input for site-level projects and environmental impact assessments.
- Assist with regulator audits and data reporting.
- Conduct site audits to ensure procedures are effective.
- Communicate sustainability initiatives at the site level.
- Represent sustainability in critical meetings and provide leadership.
- Report progress against functional goals to the Sustainability Leadership Team.
Key Requirements of the Sustainability Manager
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring.
- Extensive knowledge of sustainability standards and operational requirements.
- Understanding of legal implications for sites.
- Ability to translate technical requirements for operational teams.
- Collaborative and proactive engagement approach.
- Experience presenting to teams and senior leadership.
- Knowledge of energy and carbon schemes and sustainability reporting.
- Strong coaching, influencing, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to analyse data.
