Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a senior data governance and sustainability reporting professional to lead non-financial reporting initiatives. You will manage data ownership, process documentation, and automated reporting to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities include collecting and validating GHG emissions data, developing analytics for enterprise reporting, and coordinating with external advisors to meet CSRD/SASB standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or Business.
• 5-7 years of experience in sustainability reporting or ESG programs.
• Experience with internal controls, assurance readiness, and data governance.

OVERVIEW:

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Data Governance & Reporting

• Lead the design, implementation, execution, and monitoring of sustainability and non-financial reporting, including governance processes, control documentation, evidence requirements, and assurance readiness.
• Partners with internal stakeholders to establish data ownership, process documentation, scalable and automated reporting solutions.
• Designs continuous process improvement efforts and supports data automation to enhance reporting quality and efficiency.

GHG Data Collection & Validation

• Manage global collection, validation, consolidation, and reporting of Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions data and other sustainability metrics.
• Owns and maintains the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management Plan and provides technical guidance on evolving GHG Protocol requirements.

Sustainability Analytics & Strategic Insights

• Serves as a thought leader to evolve sustainability data for better enterprise reporting and strategic decision making, including tracking Scope 2 (renewable electricity) quality criteria or capturing emissions reductions aligned to business strategies like energy efficiency or end of life initiatives.

External Reporting & Advisory Management

• Manages third-party advisory firms and consultants to develop new enterprise sustainability expertise for the department, for example completes an EU Taxonomy eligibility and alignment assessment and develops annual reporting process.
