Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods seeks a Data Governance & Reporting leader to drive sustainability reporting, ensure governance, and partner with stakeholders across the enterprise.

You will own the collection and validation of GHG data (Scope 1-3), maintain the inventory management plan, and guide assurance readiness under evolving standards. This role emphasizes data quality and strategic insight for non-financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or Business.
• 5–7 years of experience in sustainability reporting and ESG programs.
• Internal controls and assurance readiness (SOX).
• Data governance and regulatory reporting.
• GHG accounting and environmental reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, execution, and monitoring of sustainability and non-financial reporting, including governance processes and assurance readiness.
• Manage global collection, validation, consolidation, and reporting of GHG emissions data (Scope 1-3).
• Own and maintain the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management Plan and provide guidance on GHG Protocol requirements.
• Serve as a thought leader to evolve sustainability data for enterprise reporting and strategic decision making.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Data Governance & Reporting

• Lead the design, implementation, execution, and monitoring of sustainability and non-financial reporting, including governance processes, control documentation, evidence requirements, and assurance readiness.
• Partners with internal stakeholders to establish data ownership, process documentation, scalable and automated reporting solutions.
• Designs continuous process improvement efforts and supports data automation to enhance reporting quality and efficiency.

GHG Data Collection & Validation

• Manage global collection, validation, consolidation, and reporting of Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions data and other sustainability metrics.
• Owns and maintains the Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management Plan and provides technical guidance on evolving GHG Protocol requirements.

Sustainability Analytics & Strategic Insights

• Serves as a thought leader to evolve sustainability data for better enterprise reporting and strategic decision making, including tracking Scope 2 (renewable electricity) quality criteria or capturing emissions reductions aligned to business strategies like energy efficiency or end of life initiatives.

External Reporting & Advisory Management

• Manages third-party advisory firms and consultants to develop new enterprise sustainability expertise for the department, for example completes an EU Taxonomy eligibility and alignment assessment and develops annual reporting process.
