REPORTS TO: Director of Global Corporate Social Responsibility

LOCATION: New York, NY

SCHEDULE: Hybrid - 3 days/week on-site & 2 days/week remote

Position Overview

The Sustainability Coordinator will report to the US Sustainability Manager and will be responsible for managing store-related sustainability initiatives, logistics, reporting, administration, and volunteer opportunities. The Coordinator will also help manage relationships with existing stakeholders and identify opportunities to build new partnerships together with the department manager. This role supports UNIQLO’s mission to ‘Unlock the Power of Clothing’ by making the purpose behind LifeWear clear and tangible for both customers and store teams. By increasing the visibility and effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, this role contributes to customer engagement, loyalty, and employee pride. Success will be measured by delivering clear, measurable impact in partnership with cross-functional teams. This role does not directly involve supply chain, production, or raw material management.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage relationships with existing non-profit partners and identify opportunities to build new local partnerships with organizations and stores in key U.S. markets.
  • Plan and execute meaningful volunteer opportunities and local events aligned with business and brand priorities.
  • Manage the overall Sustainability activity calendar and coordinate timelines, logistics, partner needs, and store participation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with store teams, ensuring sustainability information, tools, and communications are accurate and up to date.
  • Deliver sustainability training for new store openings, including coordination of pre-opening volunteer activities.
  • Manage sustainability reporting and communications, including 2030 targets, utility data, volunteer activities, and program updates.
  • Plan and execute strategic donation initiatives that support local communities, partnering cross-functionally across the organization.
  • Support relevant local web page updates and sustainability-related content coordination as needed.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives to integrate sustainability into core business areas (e.g., store operations, marketing, PR, digital, and new store openings).
  • Provide administrative and operational support to ensure effective program delivery, including coordinating budgets and managing vendor payments.
  • Other related duties to be assigned by direct supervisor
Qualifications
  • Preferred: 2-5 years of experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility, community partnerships.
  • Experience coordinating projects, events, timelines, vendors, or cross-functional stakeholders is a plus.
  • Experience in retail operations is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to collect, organize, and summarize data accurately.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with store teams, corporate departments, external partners, and global stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Experience with data analysis or reporting tools is a plus.
  • Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support day-to-day work, reporting, and communication tasks.
  • Occasional weekend availability
  • Occasional travel, including international.

Salary: $76,000 - $81,000* annually*

*The offered salary or salary range is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, overall experience, relevant experience, education level, certifications, applicable skills and expertise, and location of the position.
