Job summary

City of College Station seeks an Environmental Compliance & Recycling Manager to oversee environmental programs for the Public Works Department in Texas. You will monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and supervise interns and staff.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least three years of relevant experience, plus strong communication skills and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, industrial hygiene, business, public administration or related field.
• Three (3) years' experience related to environmental compliance programs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of public speaking.
• Valid Class C driver's license and a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Establish schedules to track and revise compliance plans and registrations.
• Coordinate with divisions to audit revisions and develop programs and procedures.
• Develop training and safety requirements to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor regulatory changes and manage renewal submissions and reports.
• Coordinate data collection, logs, policies and reports for compliance.
• Prepare applications and seek awards for Public Works divisions.
• Develop educational materials and enhance employee communication strategies.
• Administer recycling program and liaise with state and regional agencies.
• Monitor solid waste franchise agreements with private companies.
• Oversee Adopt-A-Street, HHW and Earth Day events and related activities.
• Manage the Public Works customer service portal and department website.
• Assist the Department Director with special projects.
