  • Support external country/cluster level extended producer responsibility audits and inspection visits. Work with site, country leads or product owners until findings are closed out.
  • Support the requirements associated with extended producer responsibility through business acquisitions, mergers and spin-offs.
  • Work to integrate product stewardship and extended producer responsibility governance into EHSS such that all those functions impacted follow clear process and have ownership of all producer responsibility related tasks.
  • Ensure relevant information on extended producer responsibility is made available to customers in line with all relevant EMEA and local laws.

Compliance tracking, assessment and governance:

  • Work with EHS, Legal and Market Access to identify, monitor and track new relevant legislation globally and participate in impact assessment with relevant functions.
  • Work with EHSS Chemical Governance staff where there is crossover between chemical and EPR legislation.
  • Participate in all relevant Medtech Europe Groups covering forthcoming EPR, Packaging, Circular Economy and EcoDesign legislation.
  • Work with other CEHSS team members and other business functions as needed to ensure the impacts of EPR compliance are understood and integrated into suitable governance mechanisms.
  • Ensure EPR requirements are included in CEHSS audits, establishing a system of checks around internal compliance with requirements.

Goal Setting and Continuous Improvement:

  • Help develop product and packaging goals that drive continuous improvement e.g. packaging material guidelines for R&D, manufacturing and transport and logistics functions.
  • Monitor best practices in circular economy, packaging, take-back and other EPR programmes to ensure Baxter continues to meet customer and regulatory expectations in this space.
  • Conduct training for internal staff as needed.
