Job summary

Hendrickson is seeking a skilled Test Technician to support engineering through laboratory and field testing of suspension designs. The role involves building and instrumenting prototype components on Hendrickson and customer vehicles, evaluating performance on proving grounds and in the field.

Required are a High School diploma or GED, 5+ years in transportation testing, and PC skills; Associate degree and CDL are preferred. Safety and continuous improvement are emphasized in this position.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a test technician or mechanic in the transportation industry.
• Basic machining and welding experience preferred.
• CDL license preferred.
• PC experience required (spreadsheets and word processing).
• Data Acquisition experience preferred.
• MTS testing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory component, systems, and vehicle tests to evaluate and validate designs and product improvements.
• Review, understand and adopt new test methods and procedures to assist engineers.
• Build, install and instrument prototype suspension components and systems onto Hendrickson and customer vehicles.
• Maintain records of work performed.
• Conduct competitive suspension benchmarking studies.
• Stock and procure test materials.
• Provide a safe laboratory-working environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Identify, define, and implement process improvements using problem-solving tools.
