Job summary

Hai Hospitality is seeking a Sushi Prep Cook to support the sushi line production, including fish fabrication, sauces, vegetable prep, and rice preparation. This is a full-time, entry-level role designed to build foundational skills toward becoming a sushi chef.

Sushi Prep Cook

Hai Hospitality is accepting applications for Sushi Prep Cooks. This is a full-time, entry-level position intended to offer the foundational experience necessary to become a sushi chef. We are committed to promoting almost exclusively from within, and to providing training and guidance along the way.

As a Sushi Prep Cook, you will be responsible for production of ingredients and setting the sushi line up for success. This includes but is not limited to fish fabrication, sauce work, vegetable and produce prep, and sushi rice prep.

Pay range: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Produce ingredients and set the sushi line up for success.
• Fabricate fish, prepare sauces, vegetables, produce, and sushi rice.
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs; stock inventory and perform restocking duties.
• Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage and cleaning of supplies.
• Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, and knives.
• Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs.
• Work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area.
• Lift, push, or pull objects (e.g., tables and chairs) to reconfigure seating arrangements.
• Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors.
• Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, with proper uniform and personal grooming.
• Understand directives and communicate effectively with leadership and coworkers.
