Job summary

Wegmans is seeking a sushi prep team member to assist in preparing fresh sushi items for in-store serving. You will work with experienced sushi chefs, learning traditional techniques and maintaining high quality and presentation in a fast-paced retail kitchen.

Responsibilities include ingredient prep, rolling, nigiri and sashimi assembly, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness. This role emphasizes food safety, efficiency, and delivering customer satisfaction in a dynamic store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Food preparation experience; Prep Cook / apprentice cook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, including slicing fish, cutting vegetables, and making sushi rice
• Assist in making sushi rolls, nigiri, sashimi, and other menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, following food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely preparation
• Uphold excellent food presentation and customer satisfaction
