Job Overview

As a Sushi Line Cook at the Beach Club, you will be responsible for preparing and executing a la carte sushi orders, as well as supporting occasional catered and member events. Your role involves creating an exceptional culinary experience through food preparation, cooking, and presentation. You must take ownership of all sushi-related tasks, adhere to sanitation regulations, and handle all food items and equipment correctly. A current food handler certificate is required. You will also assist the Beach Culinary Department, led by the Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and Chef de Cuisine, in planning and preparing quality food and beverages.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality hospitality service to members.
  • Work at the designated sushi station as assigned by the Sushi Chef and Head Chef.
  • Organize the work area efficiently and manage order storage.
  • Prepare and deliver food within recommended timeframes to meet member expectations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as rice cookers, fryers, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
  • Produce quality products efficiently for members and team members.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work area.
  • Prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes and standards.
  • Handle food preparation tasks like butchering, portioning, chopping, and storing.
  • Follow recipes and yield guides for all menu items.
  • Ensure proper storage of all products.
  • Communicate needs during busy periods and report incidents to supervisors.
  • Serve food in proper portions and presentation.
  • Disinfect kitchen areas and tools regularly.
  • Minimize waste and control food costs.
  • Review work status and follow up with supervisors before leaving.
  • Assist in training new cooks and support team members as needed.
