Job summary

RA Sushi in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Sushi Chef to craft sauces and sushi items for guests at the sushi bar, while ensuring a fun, inviting dining experience. You will monitor portioning, maintain sanitation, and work with front-of-house staff to deliver consistent quality.

Qualifications

Must successfully pass the company’s sushi chef training program.
Previous experience as sushi chef highly desirable.
Culinary degree a plus.
Approved food handling training as required by local laws.

Responsibilities

Greets and welcomes guests at the sushi bar/lounge area.
Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables using kitchen equipment.
Responds to guest requests and provides information about food.
Ensures guests are satisfied with food quality and service.
Performs shift opening/closing duties including cleaning equipment and areas.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of the sushi bar and equipment.
Reports equipment or maintenance issues to the manager and head sushi chef.
Follows guidelines on proper food presentation and garnishes.
Properly handles ready-to-eat food that is served raw.
Participates in guest celebrations as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
