Job summary

RA Sushi is seeking a Sushi Chef to prepare sauces and sushi items for guests, primarily at the sushi bar, while ensuring a fun and inviting experience. The role involves monitoring portions and maintaining cleanliness of the sushi bar area and equipment.

The position requires passing the sushi chef training, prior sushi chef experience is desirable, and a culinary degree is a plus. Great benefits and a dynamic team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass the sushi chef training program and cooking procedures.
• Previous experience as sushi chef highly desirable.
• Culinary degree a plus.
• Approved food handling training as required by local laws.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests at the sushi bar/lounge area.
• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables for cooking with kitchen equipment.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and provide information about food.
• Ensure guests are satisfied with food quality and service.
• Perform shift opening/closing duties including cleaning surfaces and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of sushi bar area and equipment.
• Adhere to portions, cooking methods, safety and sanitation standards.
• Report issues with equipment or products to the head sushi chef/manager.
• Assist with preparation of sushi items and helpers as required.
• Support special occasion celebrations to create memorable guest experiences.
