Qualifications

• Ability to multitask and manage multiple kitchen stations
• Comfort with a fast-paced environment and maintaining speed
• Strong teamwork and communication with serving and kitchen staff
• Understanding of menu items, ingredients, and cooking methods
• Reliable with good attendance and a positive attitude
• Ability to follow health and safety policies and procedures
• Capable of functioning in primary/secondary chef and sushi end stations

Responsibilities

• Operate in the sushi bar and/or back-of-house, ensuring food safety and adherence to specifications
• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and complete
• Follow recipes, measure, weigh, and mix ingredients
• Cook with methods: bake, grill, steam, boil, fry, and chop as needed
• Present and garnish dishes to be visually appealing
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist with stocking, ordering, and procurement of ingredients
• Communicate equipment issues to Head Sushi Chef
• Handle and store ingredients properly and ensure sanitation standards
• Support serving staff and other kitchen personnel as needed
• Clean areas outside the kitchen when required
• Perform other duties as assigned
