Job Summary: The sushi chef is responsible for all aspects of producing sushi for our in-store fresh sushi program. The role involves direct interaction with customers during production and sampling. The chef must maintain a clean and organized workspace, work in front of customers, and be outgoing and friendly to answer customer questions.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Greet and engage all guests.
2. Prepare various finfish, shellfish, and produce for sushi.
3. Maintain food safety records for sushi rice.
4. Assemble, package, and label sushi, sides, and spring rolls.
5. Prepare custom sushi rolls upon customer request.
6. Train and assist other associates as needed.
7. Ensure compliance with Food City policies and food safety standards.
8. Inspect and maintain high product quality standards.
9. Monitor ingredient temperatures and shelf lives.
10. Keep workstation clean and organized.
11. Know the sushi menu and ingredients thoroughly.
12. Market the Sushi Program through sampling.
13. Assist with ordering supplies and maintaining signage.
14. Communicate customer feedback to management.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.
