Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Surveyor in Training to work under a Registered Land Surveyor on boundary surveys, subdivision plats, and topographic projects. You will assist with field data collection, prepare drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and support senior staff.

Ideal candidates hold a Surveyor in Training certification, knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D (MicroStation a plus), and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Certification as a Surveyor in Training in the state of employment.
• MicroStation knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to analyze survey data and provide direction to field crews as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and good time management.
• Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with overtime.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for assigned projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D under the direction of a Registered Land Surveyor.
• Complete drawings from field survey data, sketches, plans, specifications, and instructions using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Review work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to the R.P.L.S. for review.
• Prepare drawings and/or copy existing drawings and complete simple calculations with specific instructions.
• Conduct fieldwork upon request.
• Assist with deed research, abstract deeds, create base maps for field crews, process field crew data, and produce final drawings.
• Process acquired field data into a neat and accurate plat of survey and/or Metes and Bounds description.
