Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation in Ashland, OH is hiring Surveyor 1 or Surveyor 2 in District 3. The role involves working with experienced surveyors, training on survey instruments, and hands-on transportation project exposure. Candidates may advance to higher responsibilities with licensure and experience.

The position is full-time with a 7:00 am to 3:30 pm schedule (hours may vary). Eligible benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage plus holidays and retirement contributions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with valid driver’s license and progress toward NCEES Surveying Education Standard.
• Certificate of Surveyor Intern or equivalent; 12 months experience as Surveyor 1 or intern.
• FS eligibility or equivalent with supervising license; 12 months experience or relevant surveying work.

Responsibilities

• Work with ODOT surveyors and engineers.
• Receive training on survey instruments and maintenance.
• Gain hands-on transportation training to advance as a surveyor with ODOT.
• Conduct surveys under licensed surveyor direction and assist project surveyor/engineer.
