Job summary

Phillips, Inc. is seeking a skilled survey technician for construction surveying tasks in Lakeland, FL. The role involves operating Trimble GPS and CAD tools, performing site localization and as-builts, and supporting project teams with accurate data and reports.

The candidate will train field personnel, verify equipment calibrations, read civil plans, and maintain thorough survey records. AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1–3 years of related experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment.
  • Proficient with MS Office software.
  • Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications.

Job description

Summary:Perform various construction surveying related task utilizing Trimble GPS, survey, and CAD software in order to produce clear, complete, and concise results in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent Communication skills both oral and written when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clients
  • Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment
  • Proficient with MS office software
  • Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications
  • Must be a motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advance
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditions
  • Must be willing to travel. Moderate to extensive overnight travel
  • Must possess clean driving record to drive company vehicle
Education and Experience
  • AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years related field experience
