Phillips Infrastructure Holdings, Inc. is seeking a surveying technician to support construction projects in Hamlet, NC. The role focuses on operating Trimble GPS tools and CAD workflows to deliver precise survey outputs with efficiency.

You will train field crews, perform site localization, pre-surveys, and as-builts, and ensure data quality through careful calibration checks and meticulous recordkeeping. Outdoor work and travel are required.

Qualifications

  • AAS/Technical Certificate in Geodetic/Surveying or 1-3 years related field experience.
  • Proven ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
  • Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment.
  • Ability to read civil plans and specifications.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Willingness to travel including overnight trips.

Responsibilities

Position Located In Hamlet, NC. ***

Summary

Perform various construction surveying related task utilizing Trimble GPS, survey, and CAD software in order to produce clear, complete, and concise results in a timely manner.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Train, educate and assist field personnel in the use and operation of Machine Control GPS equipment
  • Site localization and set-up, pre-surveys, production surveys and as-builts as necessary
  • Verify Machine Control calibrations, maintain and troubleshoot GPS problems when necessary
  • Perform site staking/layout and grade checking as necessary
  • Produce quantity reports for project managers and superintendents
  • Practice good recordkeeping skills for survey logs and records
Requirements
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent Communication skills both oral and written when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clients
  • Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment
  • Proficient with MS office software
  • Experience with drafting software (AutoCAD, Carlson) preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications
  • Must be a motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advance
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditions
  • Must be willing to travel. Moderate to extensive overnight travel
  • Must possess clean driving record to drive company vehicle
