Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is seeking a proactive Survey Project Lead to plan, organize and direct work of survey crews and technicians, ensuring precise measurements for construction and mapping tasks. The role requires strong communication, project coordination, and the ability to manage data and documents related to surveys.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or similar field preferred.
• 5+ years in Land Surveying and/or licensure.
• Professional License as Land Surveyor in Kentucky or ability to obtain; NCEES Certification preferred.
• Experience with Trimble Instruments, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Carlson, MS Office.
• KYDOT Route Surveying experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise survey staff and coordinate with engineering, right-of-way, and utility teams.
• Determine scope, objectives and man-hour budgets for surveying projects.
• Prepare data, charts, plots, maps, records and documents.
• Train assistants and direct survey/drafting activities.
• Develop survey methods and procedures.
