Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking an experienced Licensed Land Surveyor to lead Survey/SUE projects, directing survey teams and coordinating with engineering and utility groups to deliver precise data for construction and mapping.

The role requires SC licensure, strong leadership, and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and safety standards. Travel about 20% is expected to support field and client engagements.

Qualifications

• Licensed Land Surveyor in South Carolina.
• Experience leading surveying teams and projects.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local surveying regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise surveying staff and act as staff advisor.
• Coordinate survey findings with engineering, right-of-way and utilities.
• Determine scope, objectives and man-hour budgets for surveying projects.
• Maintain liaison on technical matters with internal/external teams.
• Research survey evidence and records to obtain data for surveys.
• Make independent surveying decisions and coordinate with clients.
• Plan surveying projects with significant impact on major programs.
• Prepare survey proposals and direct proposal development.
• Schedule and assign surveying work within the firm.
• Train junior staff in surveying and map drafting methods.
