Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) seeks a Senior Land Surveyor in Virginia to plan, direct and supervise field survey crews and deliver precise geospatial results for construction and mapping projects.

The role requires Virginia PLS licensure, 12+ years of surveying experience, and strong leadership, client management, and knowledge of Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Occasional field work and adherence to safety standards included.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of surveying experience.
• Virginia Registered Land Surveyor license required.
• Working knowledge of federal, state and local surveying regulations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations of multiple field crews.
• Provide quality control and assurance on project work.
• Prepare and monitor project budgets and billing.
• Responsible for client management on projects.
• Lead business development for the discipline in the market.
