IMEG, an employee-owned firm, seeks a Surveying Intern in Charlotte, NC for a 10–12 week summer program to support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading designs.

You will learn the Civil Engineering trade alongside experienced engineers and consultants, supporting work across survey, land development, and civil projects while staying within budgets and meeting client expectations.

Competenze

• Completed at least 2 years towards a BS Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
• Interest in design consulting and surveying.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CAD software and BIM.
• Clear oral and written communication skills.

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities.

IMEG is hiring a Surveying Intern in Charlotte, NC to support engineering analysis, design, field inspections, report writing, permit applications, and site drainage and grading designs. Over 10-12 weeks, this role offers hands-on experience while you learn the Civil Engineering trade alongside experienced engineers and consultants.

You will also support work that stays within project budgets and collaborates across disciplines to meet project goals and client expectations. The team supports survey, land development, and civil engineering work, delivering resilient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

Required Education

• Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent required

Experience

Required Skills/Abilities

• May be required to assist with field duties like surveying and materials testing

• Strong interest in design consulting

• Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs, CAD software and BIM

• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Preferred

• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred
