Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a mid-level surveyor for our Kansas City, MO office. The role involves boundary, topography, ALTA, right-of-way, design and construction surveys for diverse clients.

Travel is required, and the candidate should be motivated, detail-oriented and capable of assisting the party chief in field operations. Preferred qualifications include AutoCAD experience and an associate degree with at least five years in land surveying.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of surveying experience.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass driving record check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the party chief in field surveys and layout.
• Maintain surveying equipment and survey vehicle inventory.
• Prepare base maps and field notes.
• Perform standard calculations to determine elevations, areas and volumes.
• Read and interpret topographic maps and design drawings.
• Operate standard tapes and electronic field equipment according to rules.
• Demonstrate understanding of basic survey or CAD software.
• Perform other duties as needed.
