Job summary

Mead & Hunt, based in Charleston, WV, seeks a Surveyor Technician Party Crew Chief for our transportation team. You’ll work outdoors, travel regionally, and support field and office surveying tasks.

Responsibilities include operating robotic total stations, GPS units, data collectors, and performing construction staking, topo, and boundary surveys. Strong communication, teamwork, and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field; 4 years of experience or 6 years of related field experience respectively.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field and office surveying tasks
• Operate and support the use of surveying equipment including robotic total stations, GPS units, and data collectors
• Support construction staking, topographic, and boundary surveys
• Download, organize, and manage field data, notes, and drawings
• Maintain survey vehicles, equipment, and tools to ensure readiness and safety
• Follow established safety procedures and work effectively in outdoor environments
• Communicate clearly with team members, clients, and field representatives
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of project teams
