Survey Technician

Position Type: PRN "as needed"

Location: Lafayette, LA

Physical Demands: Light Duty

Travel Requirements: Occasionally site visits required.

Essential Functions

• Generate point files and earthwork models from CAD platforms and Agtek 4D in a fast‑paced work environment
• Collect and analyze data related to land features, boundaries, and elevations.
• Utilize GIS technology for data collection and analysis of geographical information.
• Perform calculations using algebra and other mathematical principles to determine land measurements.
• Prepare detailed survey reports and maps using software like Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Understand and use established company standards for design.
• Assist in preparation of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure compliance with local regulations and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of surveys, including field notes and sketches.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Proficiency in using surveying software such as Civil 3D, MicroStation, CAD, and GIS applications.
• Experience working with hand tools commonly used in surveying tasks.
• Familiarity with GPS technology and data collection methods.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience
