Job summary

VK Capital Ventures Inc. operates Travel Villa Kitchen in Houston and seeks a pool of Survey Takers / Field Researchers to gather honest household data in bilingual outreach. You will work in the Protein Pool program across markets and neighborhoods with careful, respectful methods.

Responsibilities include conducting household surveys, market intercepts with same-day data entry, intake verifications, and documenting field notes clearly. A trust-first approach with SNAP households is essential.

Qualifications

VK Capital Ventures Inc. runs Travel Villa Kitchen — a Houston chef co-op, cooking-class and private-dinner company (plus Six Rows Coffee and Farm2Chef, our farmer-chef marketplace) — and the Community Protein Pool, our Harris County food-access program. We are Human First service practitioners: healthy communication and people who are happy and emotionally safe in service is how we work. We are hiring a pool of Survey Takers / Field Researchers — our ears in the neighborhood — to gather honest household data, respectfully, bilingually, and accurately: the data the Protein Pool, grant reports, and customer-experience decisions are built on.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Protein Pool household survey in target ZIP codes (household size, weekly protein consumption, SNAP status, whether benefits meet need, donated-food acceptance) to completion targets set by the Survey Research Lead / founders
• Run market-day intercept surveys at demo markets (Live Oak, Fonwood, Third Ward MSC circuit) with same-day data entry — zero backlog older than 48 hours
• Complete intake verification calls (farmer / chef / household follow-ups) inside our response-time standard
• File structured field notes every shift (access barriers, prices seen, requests heard) — anecdotes labeled as anecdotes, data labeled as data.

• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred — we publish bilingually and serve Spanish-speaking households
• Trust-first manner with SNAP households: this data is intimate and is treated that way — no personal identifiers beyond what the survey instrument collects, ever

• Background check per house policy for household-facing work.

Schedule

Part-time contract shifts — market days and scheduled neighborhood canvassing, including weekends.
