Overview

SURVEY PROJECT MANAGER

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Project Manager to join our team. The Survey Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, quality assurance/quality control, and completion of professional survey services. Additionally, the role includes training and mentoring of junior staff, client satisfaction, and business development under the direction of the Survey and Market Leaders within the Renewables and Power Division.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Manages project tasks, schedule, and resource requirements.
  2. Manages project budget and analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, billing rates, and utilization.
  3. Conduct team meetings with project team to evaluate and coordinate the project.
  4. Stay current on service-specific trends, technology, software, hardware, and equipment.
  5. Drive value based on innovation.
  6. Work with the Survey Service Leader to establish, implement, monitor, and maintain procedures and quality standards for the survey group.
  7. Ensure that survey work products have a consistent appearance across the local land survey team and are delivered efficiently.
  8. Work with Survey Service Leader and Market Leaders on staffing, utilization and workload as it relates to survey.
  9. Work with the division Survey Leaders, and Market Leaders to grow Westwood’s local and national land survey presence with a focus on developing strategic pursuits of large survey projects.
  10. Support office and market-based business development by providing technical expertise and generating revenue.
  11. Build, maintain and grow a strong culture for survey that aligns with the division’s goals, objectives and strategies, and Westwood’s core values.
  12. Ensures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
  13. Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Required Experience
  1. Professional Survey License preferred but not required. Non-Licensed individuals will be evaluated based on relevant experience.
  2. Four-year degree preferred and 5-plus years of experience in a consulting business.
  3. Must have multi-discipline experience, and a strong understanding of all aspects of the Land Surveying profession.
  4. 5+ years’ experience in the land surveying industry.
  5. Must have a strong background in project management.
  6. Effective verbal communication is necessary and independent judgment is essential.
  7. Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
  8. Handle multiple priorities and projects well.
