Job summary

Samiotes Consultants, Inc. seeks a Survey Project Manager in Framingham, MA to lead full‑cycle land development projects.

The role requires strong leadership, client communication, and entrepreneurial drive to grow the client portfolio, reporting to the Director of Land Surveying. Responsibilities include planning surveys, coordinating field crews and office staff, mentoring junior team members, and managing budgets and schedules using Civil 3D and 3D scanning technologies.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Land Surveying experience.
  • Massachusetts Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred, or LSIT ready to sit for PLS exam.
  • Experience in the Boston area is a plus; ability to manage deadlines and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Land Survey Plans including Boundary Retracement, Topographic, ALTA/NSPS, Right-of-Way, Easement, Subdivision, and Construction layout.
  • Communicate with clients throughout project lifespan.
  • Mentor field crews and office staff, estimate jobs, supervise quality control, and oversee project financials.
  • Manage projects from research to final plan preparation.
  • Oversee processing and drafting using Civil 3D.

Job description

Samiotes Consultants, Inc., is a civil engineering and land surveying company specializing in land development and infrastructure that is sustainable – both economically and environmentally. We are located in Framingham, MA. Samiotes’ work experience is diverse, ranging from state‑of‑the‑art site infrastructure designs to sophisticated land use feasibility assessments. Since its inception in 1987, Samiotes has provided services to several market sectors, including colleges and universities, public and private secondary schools, non‑profit institutions, financial institutions, industrial facilities, athletic franchises, libraries, hospitals + health care facilities, retail developers, and real estate investment trusts. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our growing team.

Position Overview

We are searching for a Survey Project Manager to provide full‑cycle project support for Land Development projects. The Project Manager requires exceptional leadership and communication skills, strong drive, motivation, and an entrepreneurial spirit to support and grow our client portfolio. The role involves serving as quarterback in directing all aspects of clients’ projects, acting independently to find timely resolution to project hurdles, and reporting to the Director of Land Surveying.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Land Survey Plans including Boundary Retracement Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Existing Conditions Surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Right‑of‑Way Plans, Easement Plans, Subdivisions, and Construction layout.
  • Client communication.
  • Mentoring of field crew and office staff, job estimating, quality control, and financial overview and billing of projects.
  • Project management from initial research stage through final plan preparation.
  • Oversight of processing and drafting using Civil 3D.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Land Surveying experience.
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Massachusetts preferred, or LSIT ready to sit for PLS exam. Licensure in additional states is a plus.
  • Work experience in the Boston area preferred.
  • Proficiency with new survey technologies, surveying mathematics and legal principles is required.
  • Experience with Leica and 3D Laser Scanning is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage deadlines and budgets.
