Samiotes Consultants, Inc. in Framingham, MA, seeks a Project Civil Engineer I to support land development projects from feasibility through construction administration.

You will work with a team to develop site layouts, grading, stormwater, utilities and erosion control, applying strong technical skills. Ideal candidates hold a civil engineering degree with 0–5 years of experience, plus solid communication, problem solving, and a drive to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.
• 0–5 years of project design experience in land development.
• Soil Evaluator’s License and/or FE is a plus.
• Good knowledge of local/regional zoning and land development approvals.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.

Samiotes Consultants, Inc., is a civil engineering and land surveying company specializing in land development and infrastructure that is sustainable – both economically and environmentally. We are located in Framingham, MA, and are a certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise in the State of Massachusetts. Samiotes’ work experience is diverse, ranging from state‑of‑the‑art site infrastructure designs to sophisticated land use feasibility assessments. Since its inception in 1987, Samiotes has provided services to several market sectors, including colleges and universities, public and private secondary schools, non‑profit institutions, financial institutions, industrial facilities, athletic franchises, libraries, hospitals + health care facilities, retail developers, and real estate investment trusts. We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our growing team.

Position Overview

We are searching for a Project Civil Engineer I to provide full-cycle project support for Land Development projects. This candidate will support all phases of a project from Feasibility through Construction Administration services. The candidate will also be a Team player with good technical skills in the Civil Engineering Field with respect to Land Development.

Responsibilities

• Design permitting/construction plan sets for various Land Development projects (i.e. Site Layout, Grading, Stormwater Management, Utility, Erosion & Sediment Control, etc.)
• Assist in development and preparation of reports and specifications, work with internal/external team members as applicable, check submittals, conduct site visits, and support Project Managers, as needed.
• Receive technical guidance and mentorship on unusual or complex design issues and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.

Qualifications

• 0 - 5 years project design experience in land development field.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, required.
• Soil Evaluator’s License and/or FE, a Plus.
• Good working knowledge of local and regional jurisdictional requirements, zoning regulations and the typical Land Development approvals processes.
• High attention to detail/quality control.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem solving skills, attention to detail, and motivation to learn.
• Collaborative and professional work ethic.
