Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Project Manager to lead complex survey projects in the Atlanta area. You will assist the Department Head with proposals, budgets, and staffing while coordinating with clients and office staff to ensure timely delivery of high-quality surveys.

The role requires a Professional Land Surveyor in Georgia, extensive GDOT experience, and strong CAD/GIS capabilities. A SIT license and remote pilot certification are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering or related field; two-year degree with equivalent experience accepted.
  • Professional Land Surveyor license in Georgia; other states licenses desirable.
  • GDOT experience required; DOT projects familiarity is essential.
  • 10+ years of experience managing survey projects of varying sizes and complexity.
  • 8+ years of experience in land surveying.
  • SIT license.
  • 107 Remote Pilot’s Certification is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and Carlson software.
  • LiDAR collection and related software experience (TopoDOT, Pix4D) a plus.
  • GDOT MicroStation/Open Roads Design (ORD) desirable.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Department Head in proposals, estimates, presentations, and recruiting processes.
  • Coordinate with office staff and clients; manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Create and manage project resources and allocations; ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with PMs, resident engineers, and contractors.
  • Adhere to Accura procedures and local, state, and federal survey regulations.

Job Title: Survey Project Manager

Work Location: Atlanta, GA ***

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Will assist the Department Head in preparing proposals, estimates, presentations, employee evaluations, and the recruiting process.
  • SIT or LS required
  • Proficiency in CAD, Least Squares Reduction and other Survey Software
  • Experience with GIS platforms is desirable
  • Experience with Robotic Total Stations, GPS (including post processing).
  • Experience with scanners, drones, and other emerging technologies is desirable
  • Should be registered in Georgia or the ability to become registered within a year as a Land Surveyor.
  • A demonstrated record of success on ALTA, route/database, boundaries, topographical, inventories, and other types of surveys
  • Coordinates with office staff and clients as required.
  • Create and manage project budgets, schedules and resource allocation
  • Must have project management experience
  • Participate in pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, resident engineers, and contractor representatives.
  • Adheres to local, state, and federal survey regulations as well as Accura Engineering procedures.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited program or a scientific area and/or equivalent work experience preferred. Will accept two year degree plus experience.
  • Must be Professional Land Surveyor in Georgia, other states licenses are desirable
  • Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) experience required
  • 10+ years of experience managing survey projects of varying sizes and complexity.
  • 8+ years of experience in land surveying
  • SIT license
  • 107 Remote Pilot’s Certification a plus
