Job summary

Team Fishel is hiring a Survey Party Chief for our Hampton, VA operation. The position involves conducting surveys, supervising the survey crew, and performing related duties in our Professional Services Group.

You will use GPS equipment to set control, conduct topographic surveys, and stake easements and rights-of-way. The role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to operate survey instruments and related computers.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Operate and train others in survey equipment including conventional and electronic instruments and computers.
• Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Overnight travel may be required (not likely).
• Bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use GPS to set control, perform property searches and topographic surveys, and stake easements/rights-of-way.
• Occasional use of Total Station for surveying tasks.
• Schedule maintenance for company vehicles.
• Communicate with staff daily.
• Prepare daily/weekly timesheets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Team Fishel , the Best Choice for Utility Engineering and Construction, is hiring a Survey Party Chief for our Hampton, VA Professional Services Group (PSG) operation. The Survey Party Chief will be responsible for conducting surveys; performing survey duties; supervising the survey crew, and performing related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Using GPS equipment to set control, property corner searches, topographic surveys and staking of easements and rights-of-way
• Occasional use of Total Station for the above
• Schedule maintenance of company assigned vehicle
• Communicate with staff on a daily basis
• Prepare time sheets on a daily/weekly basis
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid driver\'s license required
• Able to operate and train others in the use of survey equipment including conventional and electronic instruments and computers (hardware and software)
• Possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills
• Although not likely, overnight travel may be required
• Bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus
• Starting pay rate for this position is $28 - $34 / hour depending upon experience.
