Overview

Universal Surveying & Mapping is seeking a full-time Survey Party Chief for our offices in Stillwater, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position does not offer per diem. Candidates must be local!

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED Required.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of land surveying, with a working history in boundary, route/control, construction, data collection/topographic types of Surveys.
• Previous experience as Party Chief is a plus.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Duties include

• Oversees field survey crew engaged in making plane and/or geodetic surveys for construction, topographic, right-of-way, control survey projects and mapping.
• Participates in pre-survey planning meetings with survey manager, resident engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives.
• Assigns and monitors work and provides input for evaluation of members of field survey crew.
• Instructs and trains survey crew in survey and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures.
• Gathers and performs field survey activities through use of surveying and mapping methods.
• Sets up, adjusts, and operates surveying equipment, including but not limited to, electronic total station, data collector, and GPS equipment, in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles.
• Prepares field notes and drawings.
• Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy.
• Provides survey and mapping information for Geographic Information System (GIS).
• Prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records, and other related documents.
