Our Southeast Transportation group is hiring a Survey Party Chief based out of our Lexington, SC office. The Survey Party Chief will perform various types of design surveys, construction stake outs and computations, and boundary and control surveys.

Responsibilities include:

• Topographic survey work and data collection using robotic Total Station and GPS equipment
• Perform SCDOT survey verification, SCDOT route surveys, courthouse research, topographic and boundary surveys, and construction stakeouts
• Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and crew members
• Ability to travel, evening, weekend, and/or overnight stays as needed.

A valid driver’s license is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have at least one of the following:

• Associate’s degree in civil engineering, land surveying or related discipline AND at least 3 years of relevant experience

OR

• Bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering, or related discipline AND at least 1 year of relevant experience

Ideal Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• South Carolina Professional Land Surveyor license or Land Surveyor in Training certification preferred
• Experience creating plat and survey maps; experience conducting courthouse research
• Familiarity with data collectors and/or robotic total stations
• Experience with survey data processing
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or Land Development Desktop preferred
• Experience collecting topographic field data, boundary surveys, SCDOT route surveys and creating CAD base maps
• Considerable knowledge of math including geometry, trigonometry and algebra
