Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Survey Party Chief to supervise a survey field crew performing control, boundary and topographic surveys, construction stakeout, monitoring and as-built surveys.

The role requires 4-8 years of relevant experience, mentoring staff in the field, and proficiency with robotic total stations, RTK GPS and data collection equipment. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to mentor, train and manage field staff.
• Ability to interpret design plans and as-built drawings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise survey field crew and mentor staff in the field.
• Perform control, boundary, topo, construction stakeout, and as-built surveys.
• Travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions.
• Occasional evenings/weekends as needed.

Job description

• This position is a Survey Party Chief which requires 4 - 8 years of experience supervising a survey field crew performing control surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, construction stakeout, monitoring and as-built surveys.
• Must have the ability to mentor, train, and manage assigned staff in the field.
• Must have the ability to operate robotic total stations, electronic data collectors, digital and optical levels, and RTK GPS equipment.
• Must have excellent math skills and be able to perform survey calculations in the field.
• Must have ability to interpret design plans and understand as-built drawings and roadway plans.
• Must have ability to create legible field sketches and detailed field notes.
• A valid current driver’s license is required.
• Ability to follow instructions and have a positive can-do attitude are necessities.
• Must possess leadership and mentoring skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, walk for extended periods, work in all weather conditions, willing to work evenings/weekends when required, willing to travel for overnight and extended stay projects as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
