Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our Survey/Geospatial team in Wilmington, NC. The role supports design, topographic, as-built, boundary, and ALTA surveys; construction staking; and aerial ground control.

Join our team to lead field crews, review plans, operate survey instruments, and maintain field notes while ensuring safety and accuracy. The position emphasizes independent work, travel as needed, and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ten years of field survey experience required; five years as a Crew Chief preferred.
• Proficient with Trimble GNSS and robotic instruments, data collectors, total stations, levels, and conventional field methods.
• 3D scanner experience is a plus; training is available.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; MVR will be checked.

Responsibilities

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to join our Survey/Geospatial team in Wilmington, NC. The role supports design, topographic, as-built, boundary, and ALTA surveys; construction staking; and aerial ground control.

Join our Survey/Geospatial team, which offers a full range of survey and geospatial data and mapping services that enable us to collect data faster, safer, and more accurately than ever before. Collect data from the air, ground and subsurface to provide precision data interpretation with us and accelerate YOUR success to become tomorrow’s industry leader.

Responsibilities

• Lead one- to three-person crews and complete assigned fieldwork.

• Operate survey instruments and data collectors to establish control and collect data.

Schedule: Generally Monday through Friday, with occasional overnight travel. Weekend work may be required on rare occasions, depending on project needs.
