Job description

STV is looking for a Survey Manager Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to join our team in either Glasgow or Lexington, KY. The Professional Land Surveyor will apply diverse knowledge of surveying practices and will be responsible for work related to the PLS license.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Assist in the development of plats, topography surveys, construction staking, and related surveying activities.
  2. Assist the Senior Survey Manager with field surveying and office tasks such as compiling field data.
  3. Oversee site survey crews, including scheduling personnel and equipment.
  4. Conduct pre-trip meetings to discuss tasks, logistics, and ensure necessary insurance is obtained.
  5. Meet clients on-site to discuss plans, expectations, and design modifications.
  6. Propose additional projects or modifications beneficial to the client and the firm.
  7. Ensure collected data aligns with client requirements; discuss potential contract additions or modifications with the client to increase contract value or add functions.
  8. Adjust plans based on environmental conditions, solve field problems, and ensure data accuracy and completeness. Build redundancy into field trips to account for potential breakdowns.
  9. Monitor safety and operational effectiveness of survey activities. Invoice equipment used for jobs. Provide site observations and descriptions to engineers.
  10. Download and review data files, import into Microstation or AutoCAD, and perform quality control checks before presenting to the client.
  11. Develop subordinate staff as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • At least 4 years of related experience.
  • Must be a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the state of employment.

Compensation Range: $96,217.42 - $128,289.89
