Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Survey Manager to lead field surveying for major civil projects. You will supervise survey operations, ensure safety and accuracy, and support layout using Trimble systems, GPS, total stations, and drones.

Requirements include 5+ years in construction surveying and FAA airspace knowledge. You will perform topographic and boundary surveys, map utilities, estimate volumes, and deliver as-built surveys with MicroStation or AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of geometry and algebra for layout calculations
  • FAA knowledge in aviation safety and airspace management
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center software preferred
  • Familiarity with Microstation and AutoCAD (Civil 3D) is beneficial

Position Overview

As a Survey Manager at Kiewit, you will play an integral role in ensuring the success of large-scale civil infrastructure projects. With a strong focus on safety, precision, and efficiency, you will manage survey operations critical to the layout and control of construction activities. This hands‑on role requires expertise in surveying technologies such as Trimble systems, GPS, and total stations, along with the ability to perform complex calculations for layout, volume, and material estimations. You will be responsible for conducting site investigations, verifying boundaries, tracking project progress, and ensuring compliance with design specifications. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction surveying, with a strong understanding of FAA regulations and experience using CAD software. You must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in dynamic, fast‑paced field environments. A commitment to leadership, safety, and quality is essential to succeed in this role.
