Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a mid-level Surveyor to lead field surveying for major civil infrastructure projects. You will perform topographic surveys, boundary verification, and utility mapping, using Trimble, GPS, drones, and CAD tools.

Expect mobility across the South-Central District with a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy. You will collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are implemented precisely, prepare as-built records, and estimate volumes and materials for project resources.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction survey or related field.
• Experience with surveying technologies including Trimble systems, GPS, and total stations.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations and aviation safety guidelines.
• Strong geometry and algebra for layout calculations.
• Willingness to work 50–60 hours per week in field environments.

Position Overview

As a Surveyor at Kiewit, you will play an integral role in ensuring the success of large-scale civil infrastructure projects. With a strong focus on safety, precision, and efficiency, you will manage survey operations critical to the layout and control of construction activities. This hands-on role requires expertise in surveying technologies such as Trimble systems, GPS, and total stations, along with the ability to perform complex calculations for layout, volume, and material estimations. You will be responsible for conducting site investigations, verifying boundaries, tracking project progress, and ensuring compliance with design specifications. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction surveying, with a strong understanding of FAA regulations and experience using CAD software. District Overview

Kiewit's South-Central District is one of Kiewit's leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.

Location

All roles are project-based and will require mobility for the duration of assignments within the South-Central District, including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Experience with Trimble Business Center software preferred.
• Survey/Engineering background preferred.
• Familiarity with Microstation and/or AutoCAD (Civil 3D) is beneficial.
• FAA knowledge in aviation safety, airspace management, and regulations preferred.
• Willingness to work 50-60 hours per week in dynamic, field environments.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction survey or related field.
• Experience With Trimble Systems Or Similar Technologies Preferred.
• Strong understanding of geometry and algebra for layout calculations.
