Job summary

Oregon State University (OSU) in Corvallis, OR, seeks two part-time survey lab assistants for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering. The Undergraduate Student Technical Assistant performs routine to complex technical tasks supporting research or administrative work, including lab, greenhouse, field plots, data collection, simple analysis, or care of animals.

Key duties include instrument calibration, equipment check-out/in, inventory documentation, and mentoring/assisting with labs

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a college program (high school, community college, or university).
• Must meet academic standing requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
• Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students: 6 credit hours per term; undergraduate international students: 12 credit hours per term; graduate students: 5 credit hours per term.

Responsibilities

• Performing instrument calibrations/adjustments
• Cleaning/organizing equipment and lab lecture rooms
• Checking out/in equipment to students
• Documenting inventory of all equipment
• ULA duties including mentoring, checking off work, assisting with holding office hours, assisting with labs, attending TA meetings
• Other duties as assigned
