Job summary

Oregon State University in Corvallis seeks 75 part-time undergraduate learning assistant/grader positions for the School of Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME). Duties include holding office hours, grading papers, copying materials, assisting with lab sections, tutoring and leading study sessions under supervision.

Students gain career-readiness skills in critical thinking, teamwork, equity & inclusion, and development while working up to 20 hours weekly in a flexible

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university.
• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible.
• Engineering background. Depending on the course, successful completion of the course they are supporting may be required.
• Regularly enrolled in the stated credit hour thresholds per term; US student rules may apply.

Responsibilities

• Hold office hours
• Grade papers
• Copying materials for courses
• Help with 30-person lab sections
• Tutoring
• Leading study sessions
• Attending weekly meetings
• Other tasks as needed by the supervising instructor
• Assist with checking off work with direct supervision from the supervisor via a grading rubric

Education

Enrolled in high school, community college, or university

Undergraduate credit hours per term requirement (6 for undergrad)

Graduate course load for full-time status (5 credits for grads)
