Job summary

Provo City Engineering Division is seeking a Survey Intern (PT) to support the municipal survey team. You will complete projects, map surveys with AutoCAD Civil 3D, and check subdivision plats.

Qualifications include being a bona fide student in Civil Engineering or Surveying, and a valid driver's license. Hours range from 15 to 25 per week, with up to 40 in summer, Monday to Thursday.

The Provo City Engineering Division is recruiting for a Survey Intern position. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with a high-performing municipal survey team.

What is the compensation?

$15.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on qualifications.

What are the main duties?

What are the minimum qualifications?

• Bona fide student in an undergraduate or graduate program in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or closely-related field. (Preference given to Surveying students.)
• Valid, lawful driver license at time of appointment. Applicant may be disqualified on the basis of an unacceptable driving record as reflected by the State Department of Motor Vehicles.

What are the hours?

15-25 hours per week during the school year, up to 40 hours per week during the summer, Monday through Thursday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

What are the physical and environmental factors?

Requires working on a computer for extended periods of time. May involve exposure to high-stress situations or environments, including contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances.

What is the selection process?

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on September 2, 2026 .

If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
