Job description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

The Funding Coordinator II is responsible for the review of medical documentation, submission, and follow-up of prior authorizations across Divisions. They are an integral part of the Funding teams and will commit to providing cross-divisional support and projects. This position requires someone with advanced skills in communication effectiveness, expansive knowledge of the funding process, quick turn-around time, and a willingness to promote a positive culture within the DFC teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Review medical documentation for accuracy/medical necessity
  • Submit for prior authorization with all required documentation to the appropriate funding source
  • Maintain consistent follow-up on the status of all prior authorization requests
  • Review authorizations from payer to determine approved/denied items
  • Calculate estimated copay based on current insurance benefits
  • Communicate with Supervisor regarding issues/changes with Payer
  • Respond to all internal and external customers in a timely & professional manner
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and lead for all team members, including training and onboarding new team members, acting as back-up support when team members are out, and assisting team members with questions.
  • Act as a leader and change agent within the team and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Participate in department/company projects and initiatives
  • Identify and communicate trends to management, as well as help find resolutions for those trends

Other Functions:

  • Perform related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • High School diploma/GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • Six months of medical documentation-related experience or training required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities.
  • Able to think quickly, assess a situation, and make sound decisions.
  • Able to use technology to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Solid written and verbal communication, listening, organization, and priority-setting skills.
  • Listens well and retains instructions; accepts constructive feedback from supervisor.
  • A track record of being consistent with attendance and prompt arrival at work and meetings.
  • Ability to perform the job with integrity and values consistent with the Numotion Mission.
