Position Description

The Field Controls Technician II builds upon foundational skills, with an emphasis on gaining experience in BMS, PMS, and critical cooling system commissioning, and basic troubleshooting. This role requires minimal supervision once trained and introduces more independent tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine controls commissioning and install tasks independently or with minimal oversight.
  2. Conduct basic diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment issues.
  3. Foundational knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems.
  4. Work on minor repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
  5. Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards.
  6. Awareness of BMS/DCIM, and common communication protocols such as Modbus and BACnet is preferred.
  7. Field experience with DDC controllers is preferred.
  8. Field experience of Tridium Niagra 4 software and Jace controllers is preferred.
Required Education & Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical coursework or certification a plus
  2. 1+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated competence in a Technician role
  3. Effective communication with team members and supervisors
