The Survey Field Intern at Pape‑Dawson Engineers supports the survey crew in completing field assignments under the guidance of the Party Chief. This role provides hands-on training in field survey techniques, equipment operation, and data collection, while developing skills for a career in land surveying.

Responsibilities include assisting the crew with field tasks, loading equipment, and following safety procedures to ensure quality and efficiency in various outdoor environments.

Competenze

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited program in Surveying, Geospatial Sciences, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a coordinated team.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn survey equipment operation.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. and perform outdoor tasks in all weather conditions.
• Reliability and dependability in attendance and performance.

Mansioni

• Assist the survey crew with field tasks, including brush clearing, setting up tripods and prisms, and carrying the survey rod for staking.
• Load, unload, and maintain survey equipment and supplies for daily assignments.
• Set up back sights and operate survey instruments under supervision.
• Follow established safety and field procedures to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Work in a variety of outdoor environments and terrains to collect accurate data for survey projects.
