Survey Draftsman

CMT Technical Services is seeking a Survey Draftsman to join our growing surveying team in West Valley City, Utah. This position plays a key role in supporting field and office operations by preparing accurate survey drawings, plats, exhibits, and mapping deliverables for a variety of transportation, municipal, land development, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working with survey data, strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills, and a solid understanding of surveying principles and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, subdivision plats, easement exhibits, legal descriptions, and record drawings.
• Process field data collected through GPS, total stations, and other survey equipment.
• Develop and maintain survey base maps and project drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with deed research, title review, and preparation of legal descriptions.
• Coordinate with survey crews, project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate project deliverables.
• Review survey data for completeness and accuracy while maintaining company drafting standards.
• Support project teams with survey exhibits, construction staking documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Maintain organized project files and assist in quality control reviews.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
